Japan 2018

My first trip to Asia – Japan! Beauty is important to the culture so my artists eye was filled with delight and wonder every day. A highlight was a day long private session in Kyoto with Shod artist Chifumi Niimi. I learned so much about Japanese language and culture by painting the characters. I brought home some Shodo brushes – so maybe there will be hints in my paintings – who knows?
